 CHAIN AND SPROCKETS

Does your chain and sprocket set exhibit any of the following symptoms?

Rust and corrosion• Drivetrain stretch and frequent adjustment intervals, including stretching beyond the adjustment limit• Kinks in chain• Excessive side to side play• Front and rear sprocket wear (hooking) • Scratched rollers• Damaged O-Rings• Spinning pins• Cracks on pins/plates

If you notice of any of these issues, it’s time for a new chain/sprockets. Neglecting to replace the chain can result in chain coming loose from drive set. In this situation the chain can cause significant damage to the bike, not to mention the potential for bodily harm. The chain and sprockets on the motorcycle wear together and should be replaced as a complete package, this ensures you will get the most mileage out of your investment. Changing one component and not the others will introduce different wear patterns between parts and reduce the efficiency/life-span of all components. This package is prepared by Ducati Indianapolis to offer the most value per dollar. All kits are comprised of DID VX Series chains in stock sizing and Superlite sprockets (where applicable).

Have you been thinking of converting to a smaller chain, changing sprocket ratios, or converting to a quick-change style sprocket carrier? Please contact us with specific requests and the package can be modified to meet your requirements! You can reach our Service & Parts Department at 317-337-1098, email us at info@indyducati.com, or fill out an online service request here.

Performance Service Special

At Ducati Indianapolis, racing and performance motorcycles run through our blood. Did you know your track bike has a different maintenance schedule than your street bike? The demanding conditions of closed course use require inspection and maintenance on more regular intervals than a street bike.  For track bikes oil changes are suggested at least every 600 miles and include checking the oil sump screen and replacing if necessary. Also on your track bike we recommend a Desmo service every 3,000 miles, and an engine refresh every 6000 miles. Suspension should be refreshed every year and the motorcycle should get an official top to bottom inspection once a year.  And don’t forget, you should be visually inspecting your track bike before every track session. If there is no published track maintenance schedule for your specific model, give us a call and we can recommend intervals using our combined 60+ years of racing experience. We offer a full range of services for more than just Ducatis, including complete overhauls of every component of your high-performance machine, as well as great tire prices and a supplier network to keep you covered on hard parts.

Please call us @ 317-337-1098 or email info@indyducati.com to get your bike ready for the next track session.
